Rozwój lokalny - Dugnad

"Dugnad" in Kędzierzyn-Koźle.

Integration of residents and improvement of neighbourly relations as foundations of local development.

04.12.2022 - Invasion from the North Pole

The streets and park were overflowing with distinctive "saints" in red jackets. One could count nearly six hundred of them! In Kedzierzyn-Kozle everyone could feel like a busy before Christmas Santa Claus.

All thanks to the tenth anniversary "Santa Claus Run" organized by the Koziołek Sports Club under the "Dugnad in Kędzierzyn-Koźle" project. Participants had a scenic route at two distances to choose from - 5 and 10 kilometers. It led both through the streets of Kedzierzyn-Kozle and through historic park. Additional attractions included a family run as well as children's and youth races.

30.11.2022 - They sculpt true integration

"Dugnad" not only integrates, but also allows people to discover new talents. Another in the series of sensory-therapeutic workshops at the Cultural Center "Kozle" took place. The next participants of the free classes co-financed from "Norwegian" funds tackled clay and chisels.

The effects of their work exceeded their wildest expectations. Under the watchful eye of instructors, true works of art were created. However, this is not the end of the adventure. At the next meeting all the little sculptors will glaze their works, which for many is the best fun of the whole creative process.

29.11.2022 - Streets full of Santas

For the tenth time, a peloton of Santas will run through our city. This year we can expect about six hundred of them!  You have never seen so many white beards, red hats and bags of gifts. It will be so crowded at the start line thanks to the "Dugnad in Kedzierzyn-Kozle" project.

The 10th Santa Claus Run will start on Sunday, December 4, at 2:00 p.m. The five- and ten-kilometer routes will lead both through the streets of the city and along the paths of the Koźle parks. Moreover, a children's and youth run with Santa Claus and a family run are planned. In addition to medals, participants can compete for prizes for the most interesting costume and the largest team.

28.11.2022 - New life for old things

Ecology is also about reducing waste production and reusing raw materials. Contrary to what you may think, you don't need advanced technology to do this - anyone can do it at home. How?

This is what the participants of the ecological workshops that were organized as part of the "Dugnad in Kedzierzyn-Kozle" project found out. They all explored the secrets of recycling, turning old, not used things into small works of art. During the classes, unneeded advertising banners were given a "second life" as shopping bags, and pieces of wood were turned into toy airplanes. It was a fully inclusive event, as the classes at the Municipal Public Library were attended by seniors as well as young people. A sign language interpreter was also invited.

25.11 - How to run a garden using permaculture?

This fascinating subject was explored by the participants of the ecological workshops, held as part of the "Dugnad in Kedzierzyn-Kozle" project. Attendees learned the secrets of nature that can help them cultivate their home gardens in a simple and, most importantly, completely natural way.

The mysterious-sounding "permaculture" is nothing more than ecological cultivation carried out on the model of natural ecosystems, assuming the least possible human interference. During the workshop at Branch No. 1 of the Municipal Public Library, among other things, they debated how to plant plants so that they benefit each other, as well as the significance of fauna in natural gardens.

24.11 - More qualifications obtained under the "Dugnad" project

Participants in free vocational training courses conducted by the Kędzierzyn-Koźle Industrial Park can add new skills to their resumes. More students have passed final exams giving them valuable credentials.

The free courses are being implemented as part of the "Dugnad in Kedzierzyn-Kozle" project. The first to take the tests were those training to become excavator and forklift operators. 17 participants can be proud to have obtain such a certificate. Another 15 people successfully completed a course on welding sheet metal and pipes with fillet welds using the TIG 141 method.

23.11 - Schedule under control

The "Dugnad in Kędzierzyn-Koźle" project includes dozens of different projects that are changing our city. The implementation of all initiatives requires coordination and effective supervision.

Another meeting summarizing the implementation of the project so far was held at the City Hall building. The meeting, chaired by vice-presidents Artur Maruszczak and Wojciech Jagiełło, was attended by representatives of parties and partners involved in activities co-financed from "Norwegian" funds. During the discussion, the schedule of tasks currently being implemented was presented in detail, and those completed were discussed.

22.11 - Autumn harvest with Dugnad

Sensory workshops at the Municipal Community Center were visited by "Mr. Potato". The friendly potato figure was created during meetings organized as part of the "Dugnad in Kedzierzyn-Kozle" project.

Participants of the classes were once again surprised by the ingenuity and creativity of the instructors. This time vegetables and piles of straw were involved in the endeavour. It turned out that agricultural crops can be perfectly useful during therapeutic exercises. The workshops are inclusive, which means that both healthy and dysfunctional children participate.

21.11 - Young entrepreneurs

Young people from Kędzierzyn-Koźle are taking part in a series of training classes called "Social Entrepreneurs." During the workshop, experts from the Europa Iuvenis Association showed students from city schools, among other things, how to start operating and cooperating with the local government.

The participants gained valuable knowledge from the "Dugnad in Kędzierzyn-Koźle" project. The last meeting was held at the headquarters of the Business Incubator. 14 teams from 10 participating schools developed skills that can be very helpful in adult and professional life. The students showed that they can be creative, and that they find entrepreneurship not only useful, but also interesting.

19.11 - "Concert of Four Cultures" filled the "Śródmieście" arena.

Real crowds at the "Concert of Four Cultures". This year's edition of the event was carried out with real flair. Nearly a thousand people enjoyed themselves in the "Śródmieście" arena. Performances of artists were followed by tasting of traditional dishes.

The Echo Kresów choir (Eastern Borderlands culture), Kabaret Rak (Silesian culture), Bogdan Trojanek & Terne Roma ( Romani culture), Andrea Rischka, Aneta and Norbert, Kwaśnica Bavarian Band, Solidaris Brass and Danuta Wiśniewska (German culture) performed on stage.

The mutual integration was carried out as part of the "Dugnad in Kedzierzyn-Kozle" project.

18.11 - Dugnad vs smog

Clean air is an important issue for all of us, regardless of age. The workshop entitled. "Stop smog" workshops were attended by senior citizens and elementary school students. The strengthening of intergenerational coalition on ecology is encouraged by the Municipal Public Library under the project "Dugnad in Kedzierzyn-Kozle".

The free classes were both theoretical and practical. Participants of the meeting not only learned what smog is, but also what plants help clean the air. To supplement this information, classes on creating mini eco-systems were held.

14.11 - Sweet workshops within Dugnad

Branch no. 11 of the Municipal Public Library was buzzing like a beehive. This is due to extremely interesting workshops conducted by the owners of the "Gucio" apiary from Niezdrowice. Whom shared their knowledge about the amazing world of bees with the participants.

The classes were held as part of the "Dugnad in Kedzierzyn-Kozle" project. This is another of the interesting pro-ecological meetings of an integrative and educational nature organized by this municipal institution.

10.11 – It will be a tasteful integration

Nothing brings people closer together than singing, delicious food and grate fun. All stereotypes cease to matter, when we are integrated by culture. Or, like in this case, four of them.

An exceptional event awaits us, it will introduce us to Silesian, German, Romani and Eastern Borderlands customs. The "Concert of Four Cultures", which is well known to residents, will be taking place on November 19 at the "Downtown" sports hall. Admission to this artistic show will be possible upon showing a free ticket. Which will be available at the box offices of the cinemas "Chemik" and "Twierdza" starting this Saturday (12.11).

09.11.2022 - Clay bonds generations together

Tea drunk from a self-made mug tastes much better. Likewise, a Christmas tree decorated with original ornaments will look even more magnificent. Real wonders were created during the latest sculpting classes organized as part of the "Dugnad in Kedzierzyn-Kozle" project.

Yet another of the free integration workshops organized by the Municipal Cultural Center is behind us. Traditionally, these meetings are very popular, as proven by the full list of participants. It turns out that clay perfectly unites generations, as children with their parents participated in the shared pastime.

07.11.2022 - Enchanted by the natural wealth

Visitors of the City Public Library could learn what herbs are used for and how to use them during a meeting with Joanna Laprus, expert on magical plants. The entire, large audience left the lecture literally enchanted.

The author of such books as "Slavic Magic Plants" and "Slavic Goddesses of Herbs" was another guest of library as part of a pro-ecology campaign conducted as a part of “Dugnad in Kędzierzyn-Koźle” project. During the lecture we learned, among other things, which herbs our Slavic ancestors used, to make love potions, and which to strengthen their hair. This knowledge, although forgotten today, shows how great of a role nature once played in people's lives.

04.11.2022 - You kick like a girl! That's a compliment!

Contrary to what the mean-spirited may say, the fair sex knows perfectly well what "offside" means. At the "Śródmieście" sport arena, girls' teams from as many as six elementary schools in the district competed for first place in the Kędzierzyn-Koźle "Girls Cup" soccer tournament.

As part of the "Dugnad in Kędzierzyn-Koźle" project. The Municipal Sports and Recreation Center has established and runs a soccer section for girls. Free classes with qualified coaches are held in sport arena, Orliki complexes and on the turf of the "Kuźniczka" stadium. Now the time has come to test the new skills during real competition. Young female soccer players from grades I-IV played a series of matches that determined the best team. Trophies awaited the winning teams, and medals were prepared for all players. Commemorative statuettes were also prepared for the best player, the highest goalscorer queen, the goalkeeper and the fair-play player.

27.10 – The stilettos will stay in the locker room

[EN] 26.10.2022 - Straight from the forest to the library

Ecological meetings and workshops organized by the Municipal Public Library in Kedzierzyn-Kozle continues. Recently, thanks to them, we had the opportunity to meet with Marcin Kostrzynski - author of books and films portraying nature, better known as Marcin from the Forest.

During the meeting in branch 5 of MBP, the author of "Przyrodyjki" told those who attended about nature, wilderness and forest animals: wild boars, foxes, wolves and badgers. Kostrzynski also showed videos from his trip to distant Canada, and told stories you probably can't hear from anyone else, such as how ducks react to a mechanical beaver and whether it can blend in with its surroundings.

[EN] 20.10.2022 - Mother nature in a 'crystal ball'

You could learn how to create your own personal forest during an environmental workshop at branch no. 4 of the Kędzierzyn-Koźle Municipal Public Library. Participants took home real forests sealed in jars.

During the "Forest in a jar" workshop it was hard to find a free seat in the room. This is one of many pro-environmental events organised by MBP as part of the 'Dugnad in Kędzierzyn-Koźle' project.

[EN] 19.10.2022 - Dugnad through the lens and dictaphone

Is there anyone in Kędzierzyn-Koźle who has not heard about Dugnad? We don't want to believe it, but just in case, here are some pieces on the subject that have appeared in the press, on the radio and on television.

If anyone is not already familiar with the project, which is co-funded by Norway, they can find out what they are missing.

14.10.2022 - Full integration

The integration as part of the 'Dugnad' project is spreading. It has just been joined by the Municipal Public Library, which, at its inaugural meeting, focused on the problem of human-animal relations. This was the first of many upcoming events at the library, the theme of which will be ecology and environmental protection, and by extension, integration with nature. The first guest to inaugurate the event was Dr Andrzej Kruszewicz – ornithologist, traveller, director of the Warsaw zoo, author and translator of dozens of environmental publications. A little bit of clay, chestnuts and leafs, plus a few ordinary kitchen utensils and a pinch of creativity. That is a recipe for little works of art. Exceptional ornaments were created during a sculpture workshop organised by the Municipal Cultural Centre as part of the "Dugnad" project.

The free activities were a pretext not only for developing artistic passion, but also for having fun together and integrating the participants. 17.03.2022 - We got it! New logo of Dugnad project in Kędzierzyn-Koźle

Dugnad is a conception, which objective is integration and development of local communities. Those values are also symbolized in the logo of the project being implemented in Kędzierzyn-Koźle. It combines progressiveness, tradition, and hart devoted to this initiative.

Typography in modern style, refers to good neighbour relations, by depicting two nearby houses. Joined together, they create a simplistic and geometrical shape of a heart. Symbolism here is obviously connected to love and respect for other people. Also, the bright green colour is not random – cheerful and hopeful. Similar to the very idea of the Norwegian custom dugnad, practised for generations, based on mutual neighbourly aid, participation in community service, and civic engagement.

Developed logo is simple, transparent, but at the same time, multidimensional. It combines development, respect for neighbourly values and reflects the spirit of community. Exactly like the supposition of the project “Dugnad in Kędzierzyn-Koźle. Integration of residents and improvement of neighbourly relations as foundations of local development“.

The project is co-financed in 85% with The Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEA) 2014 – 2021 funds, and in 15% from the state budget.

Working together for a green, competitive and inclusive Europe.
